This film has a special resonance for me. One of the scenes was filmed in the German pub around the corner- still technically called The Peddlers Arms. I remember going past outside and seeing light being blasted out from the windows as they were filming. There is a scene when a gun goes off in a car and it slowly comes to a halt. I guess this was the bit filmed in the yard of the old Vauxhall Gardens Community Centre. Ironically the old Centre existed for years and it was only when it was being knocked down that it was discovered that a World War II hand grenade had been under the floor all the time. Things could literally have gone with a bang at any point.

The one advantage of traveling to Canada and the States was seeing Star Wars early on the plane over.
